CM 350 01 Ministry Communications
Oct. 3rd 5:30-9:30 p.m. & October 4th 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.
Course Description:
Ministry Communication will focus on the organizational, interpersonal and public communication skills necessary for the minister to be effective in working within an organization. Emphasis will be on those skills necessary for successfully negotiating intra-staff relationships.

Before assuming her position at Trinity in 1990, Prof. Sundene was associate director of youth at Willow Creek Community Church. She also held a variety of Christian education positions in the surrounding area.
Sundene's areas of expertise include interpersonal communication, small groups, women in youth ministry, leadership training, effective speaking, and youth ministry. She has written in several publications, including contributions to Reaching a Generation for Christ (Dunn & Senter) and Christian Education Journal.
CM 350 02 Teaching Like the Master

Course Description:
Based on the book Rock Solid Teacher, this seminar studies the creative teaching practices and principles of Jesus Christ. The course includes interactive learning opportunities to apply practical teaching design, Biblical principles and contemporary applications.

Chair, Christian Ministries Department BA, Grace University Phone: 847.317.7039 Dr. Carlson is a husband to Donna, a dad to three sons, a pastor since 1974, an author (Understanding Teaching, Effective Biblical Teaching for the 21st Century; Perspectives on Children’s Spiritual Formation; Shepherding Parents; and Rock Solid Teacher, Discovering the Joy of Teaching Like Jesus), the former Director of Rorheim Institute (which is the adult leadership development network for Awana Clubs International), and a son of God’s grace through Jesus Christ. He was trained growing up in Northeast Nebraska, schooled at Grace University (Omaha), Talbot School of Theology (Biola University, LaMirada, CA), and University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Dr. Carlson gets joy from discipling leaders, building families, developing ministries, and most of all teaching God’s Word. Greg and Donna live in the Chicago area.
