Join the Trinity Community Choir for MLK Day

Join the Trinity Community Choir (made up of staff, students, and faculty) to sing at the first annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Trinity International University.

TIU’s MLK Day Celebration will begin with an explosive opening ceremony featuring music by a university-wide choir.

In a visible picture of the unity that is represented at TIU, please consider being a part of the Trinity University Community Choir for the MLK Day Celebration.

Five practice opportunities will be held – Participators will have to attend at least two of the five as well as the mandatory final practice and sound check on the day of the event.

Practice Opportunities:

Sunday, January 13, 2013 – MCL 174 from 7pm – 9pm

Monday, January 14, 2013 – Melton Hall in the Waybright Student Center from 4:30pm-5:45pm

Tuesday, January 15, 2013 – Melton Hall in the Waybright Student Center from 4:30pm-5:45pm

Wednesday, January 16, 2013 – Melton Hall in the Waybright Student Center from 4:30pm-5:45pm

Sunday, January 20, 2013 - MCL 174 from 7pm – 9pm

Mandatory Final Practice and Sound check:

Monday January 21, 2013 – ATO Chapel from 11am -12pm

We have the opportunity, as a University and community, to reflect on Dr. King’s life and mission as goal that is realized in our time and generation. By celebrating his life, we can rededicate ourselves to continuing the work of reconciliation, justice, and equality. We can celebrate and appreciate OUR journey, OUR mission as a community, towards biblical brotherhood/sisterhood. 

As a part of the MLK Day Celebration, the EFCA will be provided lunch at 12pm in Lantern Lounge and the MLK Day Opening Ceremony begins at 1pm in ATO Chapel.
