Philip Barton Payne, author of Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul’s Letters, and specialist in N.T. studies, will discuss his 36 years of research on the biblical view of the role and relationship between men and women in the church, culture, and marriage. The discussion will be located at the Chapel building on November 12th from 7 PM to 9 PM.
Dr. Payne is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Free Church of America and professor of New Testament studies at Fuller Theological Seminary Northwest, where he has served since 1988.

IL History Test

It has been a requirement since 2006 that ALL elementary and ALL history secondary education majors pass the IL History Test; this information was included in the syllabi of both HI 121 and HI 122. If you were in those classes, then you were told about this requirement. However, for those candidates who transferred American History credit in (either from High School AP credits or other college coursework), this may be the first time you are hearing about this requirement. As of Fall 2009 as part of the Division of Education, a passing score on this test will be a prerequisite for both ED 343 and ED 363. IF YOU'VE ALREADY PASSED THE IL HISTORY COMPETENCY TEST, THEN DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE. If you have not already taken and passed the IL History Competency Test, then you will have 3 opportunities to take it this semester. Passing this test is a requirement for Education Majors. You are able to re-take this test until you attain a passing score (75% or above). There is a STUDY GUIDE to this test. The dates for the Fall 2012 Semester are: (Location is MCL 112) · Wednesday, September 19th, 2012 from 4:30-5:30 · Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 from 4:30-5:30 · Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 from 4:30-5:30. Trinity Community Garden Celebration/Info Session

The garden celebration will be a time to discuss how the gardens went this first year, hear about the vision for Manna, and dream about our partnership with Manna for the future. You'll love hearing from the director of Manna, Yvette Ewing. We will also have some "master gardeners" attending who will be able to provide answers to gardening questions and solutions for next year.
If you or someone you know is interested in having a plot next year please invite them to come. Garden interest forms will be available for members of the Trinity community (sign up now, plots will go fast). This is a great opportunity to learn the mission of the Trinity Community Garden as well as our partner Manna Garden Initiative.
