Patrick Gilliam has been the head women's soccer coach at Trinity since 1997. He also serves as Director of Athletics here at TIU. From 1996 until 2000, Coach Gilliam coached the men's soccer team, guiding them to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national tournament in 2000. As women's soccer coach, Gilliam's teams have posted impressive numbers, having won three CCAC regular season and three conference tournament championships. In addition, the Lady Trojans have earned berths to seven consecutive national championship tournaments (NCCAA in 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004 & NAIA from 1999-2001). In both the 1998 and 2004 seasons, his Lady Trojan squads were crowned NCCAA National Champions.

Prior to coaching at Trinity, Coach Gilliam was an English teacher and boys' and girls' varsity soccer coach at Aurora Christian High School from 1991 until 1996.

Coach Gilliam is a 1991 graduate of Judson College, where he was a physical education/ secondary education major and an English minor. He was a four-year member of the Judson men's soccer team, earning all-conference honors as a junior, and playing on two NCCAA National Tournament qualifiers.

Coach Gilliam was born and reared in St. Louis, Missouri, a hotbed for soccer. He lives in Wheeling with his wife and their two children. Coach Gilliam is also working toward a Master's Degree in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
