2002 Timothy Award Banquet

The Athletic Department hosted its inaugural Timothy Award Banquet at the Lew Student Center on the campus of Trinity International University on Sunday, April 21st, recognizing Eric Jackson and Megan deBoer as the award's first recipients.

The evening began with appetizers and a silent auction, which raised funds for individual programs within the Athletic Department. Dinner followed, after which attendees joined Freshman TIU Football player John Stowers in a brief time of worship. Junior Dave Neuhausel, another TIU Football player, and Junior Sarah Rimkus, TIU Women's Soccer, gave testimonies about how God had impacted them through their experiences at Trinity and within athletics.

Kylie Praxl, our Athletic Office Coordinator, received special recognition for her dedicated service to Trinity Athletics; she will be missed by everyone in our department. Patrick Gilliam, Director of Athletics and Head Women's Soccer Coach, expressed our appreciation for Kylie, and continued the program with an outline of the department philosophy and the recently revised Athletic Department Mission Statement, after which the Timothy Award is patterned.

Stosh Walsh, Head Men's Soccer Coach, presented the Men's Award to Eric Jackson, and Patrick Gilliam honored Megan deBoer with the Women's Award.

The TIU Women's Soccer Team led a final song of thanksgiving and worship, and the TIU athletic staff closed the evening by casting a vision for the future of TIU Athletics, inviting attendees to partner with our Athletic Department as we continue to pursue wholehearted excellence for Christ.
