MEN'S Soccer
Overall Record 2-2-2
The Trojans faced some tough competition in their two games this week, and finished the week losing one and winning the other. The Trojans first took on Cedarville University on Friday. The Trojans got on the board first when Guillermo Kegalj connected on a goal in the 28th minute of the first half. Trinity kept the lead until the 87th minute when Cedarville scored just in time to send the contest into overtime. Eventually in the second overtime, Cedarville scored again to capture the victory. It was a game that the Trojans could have won, and Cedarville's coach acknowledged that. It was simply a case of Trinity having some bad luck.
On Saturday the Trojans played in front of their fans once again, and in a must win, didn't disappoint. Trinity faced William Penn University and defeated them 2-0. Christian Madalengoitia scored on an assist from Danny Drout, and Guillermo Kegalj later connected for his second goal of the weekend. Coach Bergmann was pleased that the team was able to regroup against William Penn, and get back to business.
WOMEN'S Soccer
Overall Record 4-1
The Trojans had a very successful week, winning their lone game of the week 6-1 vs a struggling William Penn team. Loryssa Simas and Ashleigh Dellos each scored two goals for the Trojans, and Ruth Kratzer added one as well. Also, in her first game back from an injury, Christine Naumo netted a goal for the Trojans. For Trinity, it was a very solid day offensively and defensively as the Trojans only allowed 2 shots on goal during the entire game.
The players and coaches are very pleased with the early success, on both sides of the ball and look to continue that success this week with games against Grand View College and then home again on Saturday vs. Hannibal-LaGrange College.
