The Trojans traveled to Oskaloosa, IA to face William Penn University and fell to the Statesmen 19-12.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Statesmen jumped out to 7-0 lead on a blocked punt for a touchdown. The Trojans then scored near the end of the first half when Ryan Thorson found Deon Dukes for a 10-yard touchdown pass. After a William Penn field goal, Thorson found Dukes again for a 17-yard score.
William Penn found the endzone once more on another blocked punt for a touchdown and never gave up the lead.
For the game, the Trojans were paced offensively by Thorson who completed 22 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Dukes led the Trojans receiving, catching 9 balls for 99 yards.
The Trojans will play at home this Saturday at 1:00 PM against Quincy University
