The Trojans took the field Saturday in their final home game of the year and sent their seniors out in style with a hard fought 13-10 victory over Quincy University.
Trinity fell behind early in the game when Quincy connected on a 37-yard field goal. However the lead did not last as TIU answered on their very next possession when Ryan Thorson found Deon Dukes for a 55-yard touchdown.
Trinity held the lead until the third quarter, when Quincy scored their only touchdown of the afternoon to make the score 10-7.
In the fourth quarter, Trinity running back Brennan Smith carried the ball for a 49-yard touchdown run to give the Trojans the 13-10 lead.
Quincy had a final chance to either tie or take the lead, but was intercepted at the 35-yard line by Josiah Sheedlo, who collected his second pick of the day.
Trinity gathered 366 yards of offense for the day, the Trojans were led defensively by Sheedlo's two interceptions and Deon Willis' interception.
The Trojans will play their final game of the season next Saturday against St. Xavier University in Chicago at 1:00 PM.
