Patrick Gilliam serves as director of athletics. He has also been the head women's soccer coach at Trinity since 1997. From 1996 until 2000, Coach Gilliam coached the men's soccer team, guiding them to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national tournament in 2000. As women's soccer coach, Gilliam's teams have posted impressive numbers, having won three regular season and two conference tournament championships. In addition, the Lady Trojans also won the NCCAA National Championship in 1998 and played in the NAIA National Tournament in 1999, 2000, and 2001 before returning to the NCCAA National Tournament in 2002.

Prior to coaching at Trinity, Coach Gilliam was an English teacher and boys' and girls' varsity soccer coach at Aurora Christian High School from 1991 until 1996.

Coach Gilliam is a 1991 graduate of Judson College, where he was a physical education/ secondary education major and an English minor. He was a four-year member of the Judson men's soccer team, earning all-conference honors as a junior, and playing on two NCCAA National Tournament qualifiers.

Coach Gilliam was born and reared in St. Louis, Missouri, a hotbed for soccer. He lives in Wheeling with his wife, Holly, and their two children. Coach Gilliam is also working toward a Master's Degree in Religion.
