The men return to action on Tuesday as they face College of Lake County and then hit the road again as they travel to Kentucky for a 4 game series with Cumberland. February 16, 2004: Spring Trip Preview - With just another two weeks of practice ahead, TIU Baseball's Spring trip quickly approaches. The team will fly to central Florida on Sunday, February 29 to face a handful of competitive programs. TIU will play its season opener the next day against Walsh University (OH), looking to avenge its 18-15 loss last year to the Cavaliers. Later in the day, TIU will take on the Warriors of Webber International University in the first of three games between the two teams during the week. Webber climbed into the NAIA Top 25 last year (peaking at #22 after a doubleheader sweep of #9 Flagler), and will endeavor this year to continue to hold its own in the Florida Sun Conference, last year's dominant NAIA conference. A doubleheader on Tuesday will match the Trojans against Warner Southern College, one of the NAIA's perennially dominant teams. Warner Southern ended the 2003 season ranked #8 nationally and sits at #4 in the 2004 preseason poll. On Wednesday, TIU will again face the Walsh Cavaliers in a single game, then turn around for a doubleheader against Webber International the next day. After a day off, a doubleheader at Southeastern College will round out the Trojans' Spring trip on Saturday, March 6.
